Duties and Responsibilities of the  Directorate of Agricultural Services:

 

• To provide support to our villages, which turned into neighborhoods with Law No. 6360, in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry within the framework of the provisions of Law No. 5393.
• To develop the economy and increasing job opportunities in agricultural and livestock activities in rural areas, to improve the level of organization of human resources and local development capacity.
• To improve physical infrastructure services in agriculture and animal husbandry activities and to increase the quality of life, to protect and develop agricultural areas.
• To ensure that planning, project design, preparation of tenders and specifications and implementation studies are carried out to improve the processing, preservation, storage and marketing of agricultural and livestock products.
• To prepare inventories in the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry and to share the results with the relevant institutions.
• * To cooperate with other organizations when necessary in order to develop training programs at district level in order to provide alternative crop diversity, to develop and implement projects to prevent regressions related to agriculture and animal husbandry.
• To protect the historical building facilities related to agriculture and animal husbandry, to determine the needs for the construction of new ones and to develop projects with the relevant institutions and organizations.
• To support the protection and development of the district's agricultural lands, water resources, plateaus and pastures.
• To carry out exemplary projects for agricultural and livestock activities on arable land owned by our Municipality.
• To support the organization of product promotion events and festivals to develop the local economy.
• To develop projects and to support such projects to make geographically marked products with brand value  and traditional agricultural and livestock products produced in rural areas to become brands. To cooperate with other organizations in the works carried out to protect the special product standards for which geographical indications will be obtained in Büyükçekmece, and to ensure the standardization of production and inspection.
• To cooperate with the relevant organizations on the establishment of manufacturer marketplaces, arrangement of product sales points on roadsides.
• To prepare and ensure the implementation of training programs for the use of modern irrigation, agricultural mechanization, crop production and animal breeding methods in modern conditions.
• To participate in agriculture, animal husbandry, food industry and tourism fairs organized in Turkey and abroad to develop the agricultural economy of our district, to establish promotional stands and to organize the participation of relevant producers and companies.
• To develop projects to benefit from domestic and foreign financial institutions in the service issues of the Directorate, to make project partnerships with public institutions, private organizations and non-governmental organizations.
• To support municipal police practices in matters related to agriculture and livestock.
• To carry out stuides to facilitate the social and working lives of producers and agricultural workers. * To provide technical personnel support to small enterprises (family farmers and livestock breeders) in line with their demands on animal health and phytosanitary issues.
• To support studies and projects to improve fisheries (hunting and aquaculture).
• To carry out studies, projects and constructions of local and joint facilities for all kinds of animal production and animal health (collective milking unit, milk cooling unit, cold storage, feed production facility, etc.)  have them carried out, operate them or have them operated.
• To develop projects to support the work of cooperatives and unions, which are producer organizations.
