Director of Public Relations

BACKGROUND OF DIRECTOR:​

He was born in the Cumhuriyet Village of Afyonkarahisar Çay District in 1985. He completed his primary and secondary education here. He graduated from Multi-Curriculum NCOS High School Electronics Department in 2002, which he enrolled in 1999. In 2003, he graduated from the Communications and Electronic Information Systems School and served as a Communication Chief within the Turkish Armed Forces for 11 years in various provinces of the country and abroad. He graduated from Anadolu University Public Administration Department. He completed his master's degree in Management and Organization. Having been transferred to the Büyükçekmece Municipality in 2014, he worked as the Deputy Chief of Staff and served as the Administrative Affairs Supervisor between 2015-2020 . Having been appointed as the Director of Public Relations in 2020, Şerif ŞAHİN is married and has 2 children and is fluent in English.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Directorate of Public Relations:

 

  • To act as an organizer in the preparation of tools and equipment such as sound system, announcements, posters, banners, newspaper advertisements made to announce the services and activities of the municipality to the people of the district, to ensure the printing and publishing of books, magazines, cassettes and CDs related to the Municipality, to distribute them to relevant places,

  • To work on the promotion of municipal services,
  • To ensure that all kinds of printed materials used in promotional activities are designed and printed in accordance with the corporate culture, to control and coordinate the relevant works, to held organizations to come together by holding meetings at certain periods with the participation of various non-governmental organizations, local administrators, etc. and the municipal administration
  • To organize the necessary works on various festivals organized within the boundaries of the municipality to ensure that the activities are concluded efficiently,
  • To make the necessary publicity investments of the places made and to be officially opened by the municipality and to ensure that they are carried out in cooperation with the relevant units,
  • To prepare the Municipality WEB Site,
  • To ensure continuity in the implementation of principles such as integrity, effective and efficient service, impartiality, openness, participation in Public Relations services, to create a public opinion in favor of the municipality, to carry out the necessary work in promoting the rights and duties of the people to the municipality and the municipality to the public, to inform the public, to carry out public measurement and evaluation,
  • To receive the wishes and complaints of individuals and organizations and to inform the citizens about the services of the municipality, to evaluate the results obtained in public relations and to conduct researches to determine the measures to increase the effectiveness of the activities in this field,
  • To create suggestions and projects for the municipality to organize social and cultural activities in the context of public relations,
  • Directing the applications from citizens (via telephone, e-mail, fax and personal applications) to the relevant units and informing the applicants,
  • To receive the wishes and complaints of individuals and organizations who facilitate from the services of the Municipality and to inform the citizens about the services of the municipality, to evaluate the results obtained in public relations and to conduct researches to determine the measures to increase the effectiveness of the activities in this field,
  • To direct the applications from citizens (via telephone, e-mail, fax, personal and press applications) to the relevant units and informing the applicants,
  • To carry out other tasks given by the Mayor.
