In our center:

• To contribute to the elevation of the artistic level and awareness of the Büyükçekmece community, we organize activities to meet cultural and artistic needs.

• We arrange national/international festivals in the field of culture and art, as well as events aimed at promoting our district.

• Events are organized to showcase institutions, organizations, and artists working in the fields of culture, art, and science in our city, along with their works.

• Graduation ceremonies for our courses and performances by the participants are featured within the municipality.

• Throughout the year, activities appealing to citizens of all ages are carried out.

İbrahim Çallı Art Gallery

Our art gallery located in the Atatürk Cultural Center is named after İbrahim Çallı, one of the pioneers of Turkish painting. The İbrahim Çallı Art Gallery has a 350 m² area, a botanical indoor garden, and all the necessary infrastructure for various exhibitions such as paintings, photographs, and more.​ 

In addition, there are Gazanfer Özcan and Suna Pekuysal halls where small-scale talks, performances and meetings are organised. 

Büyükçekmece Municipality Müjdat Gezen Art Academy

Büyükçekmece Municipality Müjdat Gezen Art Academy (Orchestra Section), which is located in Büyükçekmece Atatürk Cultural Centre, accepts students between the ages of 10 - 14 in every academic year. During the semester, we provide Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Viola, Violoncello, Singing and Solfege trainings to these students with expert trainers.

Kutadgu Bilig Public Library

The Kutadgu Bilig Public Library, located within the Büyükçekmece Atatürk Cultural Center, houses 27,000 books. Additionally, it offers seating for 64 people and provides services to the Büyükçekmece community with 25 computers.

Youth and Children’s Council 

Our youth council, established to support the projects and ideas of young people aged 14-24 related to Büyükçekmece, to facilitate their gatherings, and to encourage them to present any project they wish to see realized in Büyükçekmece, continues its work with its 70 members.

In addition, our children's council, formed to involve children aged 8-13 in local governance, support their social development, and contribute to their growth as confident individuals, is actively working with its 120 members at the AKM.
