The date of construction and architect of the mosque could not be known since it has no inscription. This mosque with the inverted T plan which is called “Bursa Type” is a type of mosque which was preferred in the establishment period of Ottoman Empire. These kinds of mosques are called “zawiyah mosques”.  Based on this information, it is predicted that this mosque was built in the XV. Century. İmaret Mosque is built in an area where there are bazaars and stores. This mosque was frequented by the retirees and elder people of Büyükçekmece once and my grandfather Şıhis İshakoğlu went to this mosque and prayed daily from 1975 when he moved to Büyükçekmece until 2004 in which he passed away.
